The Sea to Sea Hike Guide is Here (Yam le Yam)

I’ve now hiked the Sea to Sea trail (Yam le Yam) three times. Seventy-five kilometers across the entire country of Israel - from the Mediterranean to the Kinneret. And every single time, it’s been life-changing.

There’s something almost spiritual about crossing Israel on foot. It’s challenging, beautiful, and full of those rare moments you only get when you slow down and experience the land step by step.

What is the Sea to Sea Trail?

The Sea to Sea or Yam le Yam trail is one of Israel’s most iconic hikes. It’s a roughly 75 km trek that starts on the Mediterranean coast near Achziv Beach and ends at the shores of the Sea of Galilee (the Kinneret).

Along the way, you pass through some of Israel’s most diverse landscapes: Mediterranean beaches, beautiful valleys, expansive forests, hidden springs, and mountains that test your endurance. At its heart, the trail is more than just a hike - it’s a way to see Israel’s geography, culture, and history up close.

For me, this trail represents the beauty of Israel’s small size and big spirit. Few places in the world let you cross an entire country on foot in just four days.

A Story From the Trail

One of the moments I’ll never forget was on Mount Meron, the biggest climb of the trail. After hours of hiking uphill, we were exhausted, drenched in sweat, and honestly questioning if we would have to cut the day short.

When we finally reached the summit, we stumbled upon a Druze family having a barbecue. We must have looked completely beat and hungry, because without hesitation, they waved us over. They insisted we sit, eat, and rest.

The food was incredible — smoky grilled meats, salads, fresh pita — but it was more than just the taste. It was the beauty of being welcomed by strangers, of sharing in their singing and dancing on the mountaintop. That moment reminded me that the Sea to Sea trail isn’t just about landscapes; it’s about the people and connections you make along the way.

Why I Made This Guide

When I first set out to hike Yam le Yam in 2021, I could barely find any information in English. I scraped together details from forums and friends, but nothing felt clear or complete.

After my most recent hike (with my friends Adam & Adam), I shared a 4-part Instagram series. The response was overwhelming. Over 500,000 views, and hundreds of people commenting and messaging me asking where to start, how long it takes, where to camp, what to pack, is it safe, and many more questions - the same questions I had before I hiked it the first time.

That’s when I knew I needed to put everything I’ve learned into one place.

What’s Inside the Guide

The Sea to Sea Hike Guide is the resource I wish I had years ago. Inside, you’ll find:

  • 📍 A full 4-day breakdown of the hike — distances, campsites, water sources, and food stops.

  • 🗺 A custom Google Map with pins for food stops, swimming holes, highlights, and campsites.

  • 📱 A downloadable GPX file for offline use on your phone or GPS device.

  • 🎒 Packing list, safety tips, and even useful Hebrew words to help you along the trail.

  • Personal reflections from my three crossings - the little stories and lessons that make the hike more than just kilometers on a map.

This guide is for anyone who wants to take on the trail themselves or for anyone who has a friend or family member in Israel who would treasure it as a gift.

Why Now

This guide is part of something bigger for me. I want to dedicate more of my time to creating content that promotes outdoor adventures in Israel, supports small businesses that I love, and shares the beauty of this incredible country with the world.

When you buy this guide, you’re not just getting an incredible resource - you’re also helping me keep making more guides, videos, and resources for people who want to explore Tel Aviv and Israel or who just love watching my content form home.

Give the Gift of Adventure

Maybe you’re not planning to hike Yam le Yam yourself but chances are you know someone who would love to. Whether it’s:

  • A friend studying abroad in Israel

  • A family member who loves hiking

  • Or a gift for someone who’s planning a trip or lives here

This guide is something they’ll actually use and remember. And gifting someone the chance to walk across an entire country? That’s pretty unforgettable.
